Crystal Bay

Where California meets Nevada on the North Shore —” vintage casinos, live music and a Rat Pack legend.

North Shore Nightlife

A Little Glamour, a Lot of History

Crystal Bay sits right on the California —“Nevada state line at the top of the North Shore, where the road crosses from one state to the other and the casinos begin. It's the North Shore's hub for gaming, late-night dining and live music —” a smaller, more low-key scene than the South Shore's.

The area is steeped in mid-century lore: the historic Cal Neva Lodge straddling the state line was once owned by Frank Sinatra and drew the Rat Pack and Hollywood to the lake. Some of these landmark properties have closed or are being redeveloped, so it's worth checking what's currently open before you go.
