Commons Beach is less a wild shoreline and more a beloved community park: terraced lawns step down to a small sandy beach, with a creative playground, picnic spots and big shade trees right at the edge of downtown Tahoe City.
It's free, it's central, and in summer it hosts Concerts at Commons Beach — free live music on Sunday evenings that turns the lawn into the North Shore's living room.
