Sand Harbor is the postcard. Part of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, its sheltered coves sit over pale sand that turns the shallow water an almost Caribbean turquoise, broken up by the rounded granite boulders that make it instantly recognizable.
It's a short hop from Incline Village, which makes it the busiest beach on the East Shore. The boulders are tailor-made for kayaking and exploring by paddleboard, and on summer evenings the Sand Harbor amphitheater hosts the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival with the water as a backdrop.
